Choose Where the Paneling Ends
Paneling changes the proportions of a wall, so its stopping point matters as much as its profile. Half-height frames can make a hallway feel structured while leaving room for artwork above. Full-height battens draw the eye upward and suit a feature wall behind a bed or sofa. Align horizontal edges with doors, windows or built-in furniture where possible. Avoid ending a strong pattern at an arbitrary point, because the unfinished edge can attract more attention than the paneling itself.
